Labor Day
The 10 mile race was fun, the string quartet playing in the woods made it unique. A family was playing Vangelis's "Chariots of Fire" at Mile 9 and I told them if I close my eyes I can imagine running along the beach in Scotland. I spoke to my Mom later and she said she thought they were running along the beach in France in the beginning of that movie, so maybe I was wrong.
Aga bought a new dining room table and chairs, she took me and the girls to see it at the store when I returned home. The thing I did not like about the race was it was 49 miles from home out in a suburb called Park Forest. I got a medal and an outstanding race t-shirt so that's nice.
After their nap we all went out for caesar salads, and also got tiramisu. N & J were very crabby so we returned home to eat the tiramisu.

So everything went okay with the 10 miles? Sounds like it.
Yes indeed. What helped tremendously was that miles 2-5 were run through a shady forest!
I am pretty sore today (quads and left foot) but am feeling good that I managed to finish another race this summer!
Shady forest = good
Hot pavement = not good
